Maricopa Community Colleges Visual Arts Student Competition 2017-18

The Maricopa Community Colleges sponsor a district-wide competition to encourage and recognize student achievement in visual arts. Two categories are offered: 2-D (Two-Dimensional Art) and 3-D (Three-Dimensional Art). All visual art entered must have been made when the student was enrolled in an MCCCD credit course during the summer, fall 2017, or spring 2018 semesters.

Winning entries will be displayed at the Herberger Theatre for the MCCCD Artist of Promise event on April 25, 2018. For the exhibition, 2-D work must be framed and wired. 3-D work must meet space and handling restrictions. Maximum size for flat art is 30" x 40" and must weigh no more than 30 pounds. 3-D artwork must fit on a 20" x 20" pedestal and weigh no more than 60 pounds. No special hanging requirements can be considered due to exhibit area restrictions.

Submissions must be digital file uploads in JPG or JPEG format with minimum file dimension of 1920 pixels on the longest side. Applicants may submit 1-4 images. Selected student artists are responsible for preparing their artwork for exhibition and will be provided with a Liability Waiver Form and Talent Release Form to sign and submit to Maricopa Center for Learning and Instruction (MCLI) prior to the exhibition.
