Maricopa Community Colleges Music Competition

The Maricopa Community College District sponsors a student music competition for students enrolled in MCCCD. Competition categories include: Composition, Instrumental Solo, Piano Solo, Guitar Solo, Instrumental Ensemble, Jazz Instrumental Ensemble, and Vocal Solo (Classical and Music Theatre, Male & Female).

Entries for Instrumental categories (Instrumental Solo, Piano, Guitar, Instrumental Ensemble, and Jazz Instrumental) must be submitted online no later than 10:59 p.m. on Friday, February 14, 2014. Entries for Vocal must be submitted online no later than 10:59 p.m. on Friday, February 7, 2014. In-person competition dates are February 28, 2014 for instrumental competition and March 21, 2014 for vocal competition. Entries will be judged by a panel of experts in the corresponding discipline.

Eligibility: Contestants must have been "for credit" students at one of the MCCCD colleges (faculty excluded). Entries must be works performed or written during the student's enrollment in credit courses at an MCCCD college. Students who have won First Place in a category are not eligible to participate again in that category. Only one entry per category may be submitted by an individual. Entries cannot be works from previous publications or previously submitted for any MCCCD Music Competitions.
