Maricopa Community Colleges 2015-2016 Visual Art Student Competition

The Maricopa Community Colleges sponsor a district-wide competition to encourage and recognize student achievement in visual arts. Two categories are offered: 2-D (Two-Dimensional Art) and 3-D (Three-Dimensional Art). All visual art entered must have been made when the student was enrolled in an MCCCD credit course during the summer, fall 2015, or spring 2016 semesters.

Winning entries will be displayed at the Herberger Theatre for the MCCCD Artist of Promise event on April 20, 2016. For the exhibition, 2-D work must be framed and wired. 3-D work must meet space and handling restrictions. Maximum size for flat art is 30" x 40" and must weigh no more than 30 pounds. 3-D artwork must fit on a 20" x 20" pedestal and weigh no more than 60 pounds.

Submissions are made by digital file upload in JPG or JPEG format with a minimum dimension of 1920 pixels on the longest side. Applicants may submit between 1 and 3 total work samples (images, audio, or video). Selected artists are responsible for preparing their artwork for exhibition and will be required to sign and submit liability waiver and talent release forms prior to the exhibition.
