Male-Man: Women Artists Depicting Men

Las Laguna Gallery is seeking work by women artists that depicts the male figure. Artists may portray the male form through any visual approach—figurative, representational, or abstract—using line, shape, color, light and dark, mass, volume, texture, and perspective.

Accepted media include photography, fabric, mixed media, paintings, drawings, oil, acrylic, ink, graphite, pastels, and digital art. All local, national, and international artists—professional and amateur—working in multiple art mediums are welcome. Work must be able to be hung on a wall; no sculptures, jewelry, or work requiring special installation or instructions will be accepted.

Entry fee is $35 for the first image and $5 for each additional image (maximum 15 images). Submissions must be received between April 14-28, 2014. The opening reception is Thursday, May 1st from 6:30pm-10:00pm, with the exhibition running May 1-30, 2014. Artist/gallery split is 65% artist, 35% gallery. Artwork not picked up within 30 days becomes the property of the gallery.
