About This Call
The Providence Art Club invites female artists to submit their strongest two and three-dimensional work in any media to the Making Your Mark National Open Juried Exhibition. This exhibition celebrates the achievements of contemporary female artists and honors the women integral to the founding of the Providence Art Club in 1880, when six women and ten men signed the founding documents. The exhibition will be held April 2-21, 2017 at the Maxwell Mays Gallery.
Eligibility is open to artists who identify as female and are working in the United States. The entry fee is $35 ($25 for PAC members). Submissions should include 1-2 digital images of original artworks completed within the last four years. Thirteen prizes totaling over $5,000 in awards will be given, including a Best in Show prize of $1,500. The exhibition juror is Kathryn Wat, Chief Curator at the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, DC.
Accepted artists will be notified by email on February 24, 2017. Work delivery is required between February 27 – March 29, 2017 (12-4pm weekdays, 2-4pm weekends). All exhibited works must be for sale and properly prepared with secured hanging apparatus. Three-dimensional works may not exceed 100 lbs. The Providence Art Club carries insurance covering fire, theft, and breakage (valued at 2/3 of sale price, maximum $250). Sales commissions are 25% for PAC members and 40% for non-members. Work removal or return shipping arrangements must be completed between April 24-28, 2017. Contact Michael Rose, Gallery Coordinator, at [email protected] with questions.
