About This Call

The Art Museum of Greater Lafayette invites artists to participate in the Making It In Crafts III National Invitational exhibition, which will showcase significant work of distinguished creative artisans. The Exhibitions Committee has reviewed submissions and invites selected artists to include up to 3 pieces of their work.

All artwork must be original design, gallery ready, and for sale at reasonable prices. The Art Museum will retain a 30% commission on all sales. Two-dimensional work has a maximum size of 72" x 72" and must be framed (works on paper require frames; only Plexiglas framing accepted on shipped 2D work). Paintings must be framed or have finished edges and be ready to hang with hanging wire or cleat preferred. Three-dimensional work must not exceed 50 lbs and have a maximum size of 40" x 40" x 40". All work must be gallery ready for installation.

Digital entries and images must be received by midnight January 8, 2017. Shipped works must arrive April 10-14, 2017 (9 a.m. – 5 p.m. EDT). Hand-delivered work must arrive April 22-25, 2017 (11 a.m. - 4 p.m. EDT). The opening reception is May 12, 2017 (6-8 p.m.), and the exhibition closes August 27, 2017. Hand-delivered work must be picked up August 30 – September 3, 2017 (11 a.m. - 4 p.m. EDT). Artists are responsible for round-trip shipping and insurance during shipping. All shipments must include a prepaid return shipping label in a reusable container. Works packed with packing peanuts will not be accepted. If there is loss or damage to artwork while on display, coverage is determined by the Art Museum's insurance claims adjuster. The Art Museum will not assume responsibility for costs not covered by insurance. For questions, contact [email protected].
