About This Call
The 43rd Magic City Art Connection (MCAC), Birmingham's premier contemporary fine art festival, will take place April 24-26, 2026 at Sloss Furnaces National Historic Landmark in downtown Birmingham, Alabama. The festival features 150+ fine art booths, special exhibitions and installations, live music and cultural performances, plus Corks & Chefs - Birmingham's longest-running tasting event. MCAC has garnered regular recognition and numerous awards over the years, including Best Festival, from local, regional, and national media.
Open to all fine artists 18 years of age or older, artists are chosen for participation by jury. Accepted art mediums include original fine art and fine craft: Painting (Oil & Acrylic), Watercolor, Drawing, 2D Mixed Media, 2D Digital/Computer Generated, Photography, Printmaking, Fiber, Jewelry, Clay, Glass, Metalwork, Wood, 3D Mixed Media, Sculpture, and Furniture. Application requires 4 high-resolution JPEG images of artwork, 1 booth photo, artist statement/bio, and image list. Early bird application deadline is September 5, 2025 with $35 fee; regular application deadline is November 5, 2025 with $50 fee.
Booth spaces are 10'x10' (single) or 10'x20' (double), with limited premium booths available. Artist amenities include continental breakfast Saturday and Sunday mornings, Artist Awards & VIP Dinner, artist profile on website, free exhibitor parking, 24-hour festival security, and booth sitting by volunteers. Artists must be present all three days of the festival and are responsible for collecting and paying 10% sales tax. All work must be original, handcrafted by the exhibitor, and available for sale.
