About This Call
This exhibition is open to K-12 student artwork at all levels: elementary, middle school, and high school. Submitting teachers must be current MAEA members. Student teacher members may submit work by providing their cooperating teacher's contact information.
Submissions may include original 2-D or 3-D artworks and video entries. Teachers may submit up to two pieces per student at the high school level, and one piece per student at elementary and middle school levels. Work samples should include 1-5 images and/or 0-5 videos. For the 2020/2021 exhibition, there are no size limitations on works submitted. Artwork will be adjudicated digitally, and no matting or framing is required for accepted works.
For each submission, provide student name, grade level, parent/guardian contact information, and a signed image/photo release form (kept on file). Each artwork requires media type, title, and an artist's statement. Elementary-level artist statements may be teacher-written; students at other levels should write their own statements reflecting on their work. Additional awards will be automatically adjudicated, including Top 18 pieces at each level and selections for the Michigan Department of Education exhibition (10 pieces at each level). Awardees will be notified after awards are decided.
