Madrona Branch Library Invitational Call for Artworks

This is an invitational call for professional artists to submit artworks for purchase and installation at the renovated Madrona Branch Library in Seattle. The Madrona Branch, which opened in a converted firehouse in 1973, is being remodeled as part of the "Libraries for All" building program. The facility is expected to reopen in early 2008.

Artists should submit images of artworks available for purchase and installation prior to the facility's reopening. Both two-dimensional and three-dimensional works will be considered. The floor plan provided with the application identifies potential interior and exterior sites for artwork. The overall scale of submitted work should be appropriate for the identified sites without interfering with library operations. The total budget available for artwork purchase is $6,365.00, inclusive of all taxes.

Applicants must submit between 1 and 10 images of available artworks. Selection will be based on the strength and artistic quality of past works, appropriateness of work for a public library setting, and artistic diversity of the city's collection. Artists will be notified of results by email in December 2007.
