Madre - Juried Competition and Group Exhibition

Madre is a group exhibition and juried competition revolving around the theme of feminine energy in both modern and historic cultural and religious iconography. Submissions are open to any style or medium that addresses this subject matter. The exhibition opens May 1st, 2021 at ShockBoxx Gallery in Hermosa Beach.

Artworks will be judged based on creativity, originality, quality of work, composition, and overall artistic ability. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three pieces selected by the jury. Winners will receive an award certificate and featured wall space in the exhibition. The competition will be featured on Artsy, and winners will be published on the PMS Artwork Past Competition Winners site.

Entry fee is $25 for a single entry of one image, or up to eight images at $5 per additional image. Audio and video uploads are also available (up to 5 each). Submissions must be received by April 3rd, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Winners will be announced in early April via email. If selected for the gallery exhibition, details on delivering work to the gallery will be provided via email. The competition is open to international artists. Jurors include Leah Perrino, Emerald Padgett, Chloe Allred, Theodosia Marchant, and Joy Ray.
