About This Call
The 54th Madison Chautauqua Festival of Art takes place September 27-28, 2025, in Historic Downtown Madison, Indiana. This autumn festival brings more than 40,000 guests in search of uniquely handcrafted fine arts and crafts. The festival showcases high-quality original art from eligible categories including painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, weaving, folk art, jewelry, fiber, wood, baskets, clay, glass, paper, printmaking, mixed media, and leather. 200 fine artists and craftspeople from all 50 states are invited to exhibit along tree-lined neighborhood streets overlooking the Ohio River area on Broadway, Elm, Vine and Vaughn Streets.
Booth spaces are 10' x 15' for $350, with larger 10' x 20' spaces available for $400. Corner spaces, two open-sided booths, and half corner booths are available for additional fees. All work must be handmade and individually designed by the artist. Items made from kits, patterns, or mass-produced items are not allowed. Artists must be present during the complete show from 10am through 5pm on both days. All tents must be white with no logos or branding.
The festival offers an early jury option with applications due March 1st for review in the first week of March, with some artists potentially placed on a waitlist until the final jury in the first week of July. Exhibitor amenities include booth sitters, indoor hospitality area with restrooms, breakfast and snacks, and friendly volunteers. The outdoor event is held rain or shine with free admission. Booth fees are due August 1, 2025, and electricity is not available.
