Made in New York 2026

Made in NY is an annual juried exhibition at the Schweinfurth Art Center in Auburn, New York featuring work by New York State artists. The exhibit runs March 28 - May 16, 2026, with an artists' reception and awards ceremony on Saturday, March 28. Prizes will be awarded, including $1,000 for Best of Show. The exhibition is open to all media including photography, sculpture, ceramics, painting, drawing, fiber, installation, and video.

Eligibility: Professional artists 18 years and older residing in New York State may submit up to 2 artworks created within the past 3 years (2023 and after) that have not been previously exhibited at the Art Center. Artworks must be original design and personal execution, installation-ready with appropriate hanging devices or hardware, and clearly labeled with the artist's name and title. Unframed works on paper and works suspended from the ceiling are not accepted. Sculptural work must be under 200 lbs and fit through 82" x 41" doors without exceeding 144 inches on any side.

Submission Requirements: Applicants may submit one full view image and one detail image per work (detail images optional) for a total of 4 images maximum. Full view images must be labeled with the artwork title; detail images must be labeled as "Title of artwork_detail." Images must be JPEG/JPG format, 1,200 pixels or greater on the longest side, and under 5 MB. Up to 2 videos (MOV, MP4, WMV, 3GP, AVI, ASF, MPG, M2T, MKV, M2TS format, under 100 MB) may be submitted for works with moving parts or performance elements. Entry fee is $35.00, which includes Art Center membership for February-December 2026 (free admission, workshop discounts, and eligibility for the Members exhibition). Current members pay $5.00 with a promo code. Deadline to apply: January 25, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. EST. Jury results will be emailed February 13. Jurors are Jeremy Randall and Anita Welych.

Delivery: Hand delivery accepted Monday-Saturday, March 2-7, 10am-5pm. Mailed artwork must arrive by Saturday, March 7. Pickup: Tuesday, May 19 - Friday, May 22, 10am-5pm, or by appointment. Shipped work will be returned by mail beginning Friday, May 22. If artwork is for sale, the Art Center retains a 30% commission. The Schweinfurth Art Center will insure objects on site for the insurance value indicated on the entry form; artists are responsible for shipping insurance both ways.
