Made in New York 2023

Made in NY is an annual exhibition at the Schweinfurth Art Center in Auburn, New York featuring work by New York artists. The exhibit is a competitive, juried exhibition open to professional artists 18 years old and up residing in New York State. All media are welcome, including photography, sculpture, ceramics, painting, drawing, fiber, installation, and video. Prizes will be awarded, including $1,000 for Best of Show. Exhibition dates are March 25 – May 28, 2023, with an artists' reception and awards on March 25.

Applicants may submit up to 2 artworks, with each artwork requiring a separate application. Artworks must be created within the past 3 years and not previously exhibited at the Art Center. Work samples should include a full view image and optional detail image (JPEG or JPG, 1,200 pixels minimum on longest side, under 5 MB). Video submissions are also accepted (MOV, MP4, WMV, 3GP, AVI, ASF, MPG, M2T, MKV, M2TS, under 100 MB). Artworks must fit through 82" x 41" doors and not exceed 144 inches on any side; sculptural work must be under 200 lbs. Unframed works on paper and works suspended from ceiling are not accepted. All work must be installation-ready with appropriate hanging devices or installation instructions.

The entry fee is $35.00 and includes membership at the Art Center for February-December 2023, providing free admission, workshop discounts, and eligibility for the Members exhibition. Current members pay $5.00 with a promo code. Hand delivery is accepted March 6-11 (Monday-Saturday, 10am-5pm); shipped work must arrive by March 11. Artwork pickup is May 30 – June 2 (Tuesday-Friday, 10am-5pm) or by appointment. Shipped work will be returned by mail beginning May 31. If artwork is for sale, the Art Center retains a 25% commission. The Art Center will insure objects on site for the insurance value indicated on the entry form; artists are responsible for shipping insurance both ways. Jury notification will be emailed February 16.
