Made in New York 2022

Made in New York is an annual exhibition at the Schweinfurth Art Center in Auburn, New York featuring work by New York artists. The exhibit is a competitive, juried exhibition open to all media including photography, sculpture, ceramics, painting, drawing, fiber, installation, and video. Prizes will be awarded, including $1,000 for Best of Show. Exhibition dates are March 26 – May 15, 2022, with an artists' reception and awards on Saturday, March 26.

Applicants must be New York residents and may submit up to 2 artworks created within the past 3 years. Submissions may include one full view image and one optional detail image per work (up to 4 images total). Detail images must be labeled as "Title of artwork_detail." Images must be JPEG or JPG format, 1,200 pixels or greater on the longest side, and under 5 MB. Videos (MOV, MP4, WMV, 3GP, AVI, ASF, MPG, M2T, MKV, M2TS, under 100 MB) are also accepted. Artworks must fit through 84" x 84" doors and not exceed 144 inches on any side; sculptural work must be under 200 lbs. All work must be installation-ready with appropriate hanging hardware and clearly labeled. Unframed works on paper and works suspended from the ceiling are not accepted.

Entry fee is $35.00, which includes Art Center membership for February-December 2022 (free admission, workshop discounts, and eligibility for the Members exhibition). Members with current active membership pay $5.00 (promo code required). Artwork delivery is accepted March 7-12 (Monday-Saturday, 10am-5pm) or by appointment. Shipped work must arrive between March 7-12. Jury results will be emailed February 26. Artwork pickup is May 17-20 (10am-5pm, Tuesday-Friday) or by appointment; shipped work will be returned by mail beginning May 18. If artwork is for sale, the Art Center retains a 25% commission. The Art Center will insure objects on site for the declared insurance value; artists are responsible for shipping insurance both ways. Jurors are Ellen Blalock, Gina Murtagh, and Kim Waale.
