About This Call
Made in New York is an annual exhibition at the Schweinfurth Art Center in Auburn, New York featuring work by New York artists. The exhibit is a competitive, juried exhibition open to professional artists 18 years old and up residing in New York State. The exhibition is open to all media including photography, sculpture, ceramics, painting, drawing, fiber, installation, and video. Prizes will be awarded, including $1,000 for Best of Show.
Applicants may submit digital images of up to 2 artworks created within the past 3 years. Submit one overall image and one detail image of each work for a total of 4 images. Detail images must be labeled as follows: Title of artwork_detail. Artworks must be able to fit through 84" x 84" front doors and not exceed 144 inches on any side. Sculptural work must be under 200 lbs. All work must be received installation-ready with appropriate hanging device, hardware, and/or installation instructions. Unframed works on paper will not be accepted. Works cannot be suspended from the ceiling. The entry fee is $35.00 and includes membership at the Art Center for February-December 2021. Membership benefits include free admission, discounts on workshops, classes, and events, and eligibility for the Members exhibition. A reduced entry fee of $5.00 is available for artists with current membership.
Exhibition dates are June 12 – August 7, 2021. Jury results will be emailed April 23. Artwork delivery is May 18-22 (Tuesday-Saturday, 10am-5pm). Hand delivery and mail delivery are accepted. Artwork pickup is August 10-13 (10am-5pm Tuesday-Friday) or by appointment. Shipped work will be returned by mail beginning August 11. If artwork is for sale, the Art Center will retain a 25% commission on all sales made during the exhibition.
