About This Call
The Emmanuel Art Gallery is hosting a call for entries for Made in Colorado, an exhibition of artists living or working in Colorado. This exhibition will celebrate Colorado's best contemporary art. Artists from around the State of Colorado are invited to submit their work for consideration. Select artists will be considered for studio visits by the jurors.
The exhibition is juried by Cameron Keith Gainer, a publisher, director of a project space, and visual artist whose work has been exhibited at Weinstein Gallery in Minneapolis, the Fabric Workshop and Museum in Philadelphia, and the Museum of Contemporary Art at USF, Florida, among others; and Olga Viso, an internationally renowned curator and museum director who formerly directed the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis and the Smithsonian Institution's Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden in Washington, DC. This will be their first co-juried exhibition.
Up to three artworks in any media may be submitted by each artist. Submissions should include images, video, or sound, and a CV. For each work, please include title, media, date, dimensions, and any special instructions. Submission is free of cost. Works selected for the exhibition will be shown at either the Emmanuel Art Gallery, located on the campus of the University of Colorado Denver, or 808 Projects, located in Denver's Santa Fe arts district. Some A/V equipment such as monitors and projectors may be available. Artists may need to help install artwork if there are advanced technical or complex installation requirements. The opening celebration is Thursday, June 7, 6-9pm. Exhibition dates: June 7 - August 10, 2018.
