About This Call
MINT announces an all-media call for M6: MINT's 6th Annual Juried Exhibition for emerging artists. The exhibition seeks to showcase the work of dynamic and innovative emerging cultural producers currently working in the United States. Each artist selected for inclusion will have multiple works featured and will be awarded an artist fee/cash honorarium from MINT.
The exhibition is juried by Tiffany LaTrice of TILA Studios in Atlanta, GA, and seeks work responding to a quote by Contemporary American Poet Aja Monet: "Hatred doesn't just hurt the people being hated, it hurts the people housing hatred." Artists are encouraged to explore the relationship between love and hatred and the possibility of their coexistence and how hatred can fuel togetherness or divisiveness.
Eligible artists must be over 18 years old and currently reside in the United States. Emerging artists must have minimal solo exhibition experience, minimal published arts criticism, and minimal grant/private funding. All media are welcome including drawing, painting, sculpture, design, glass, metalwork, photography, video, audio, mixed media, installation, and performance art. Artists may submit 5 files minimum for a $25 entry fee, with additional works accepted for $5 each. Applicants should submit works created within the last three years. All works must be created prior to submission and framed/mounted/displayed according to professional gallery standards. Selected participants will be notified of acceptance by March 11, 2019. Exhibition dates are April 13 - May 25, 2019. All works must be delivered to MINT at 92 Peachtree St. SW, Atlanta, GA 30303 by April 1, 2019. Artists are responsible for shipment of work to and from the exhibition location.
