Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital Campus - Garage Façade Project

Harris Health invites artists to submit qualifications for the Lyndon B. Johnson (LBJ) Hospital Campus - Garage Façade Project. This opportunity is limited to current residents of Harris County. The Art Committee will review submissions and select a shortlist of artists to advance to the second phase, which involves developing project-specific designs. A stipend will be provided for the design phase. Shortlisted artists must submit project-specific designs by Monday, December 2, 2024.

The project involves designing a decorative screening with an iconic surface design for the facade of a multi-level parking garage at the LBJ Hospital Campus. This monumental design will serve as a welcoming element for patients, families, community members, and staff. The design should reflect Harris Health's mission and values while infusing elements that represent the diverse communities served by Harris Health. The Art Committee is open to both abstract and representational designs. Technical aspects of fabricating and installing the decorative screening system will be handled by the construction team.

Artists or artist teams must provide background information and examples of completed projects to demonstrate capability, competency, and unique vision. Submissions should include 5 images.
