About This Call
The Rhode Island Watercolor Society invites submissions for "Luminous Landscapes," an online juried exhibition. Artists are encouraged to interpret the theme "luminous landscape" in creative ways. The exhibition runs April 13th - May 3rd, with an online opening reception on Thursday, April 18th at 6pm on Zoom. Notification of acceptance will be sent April 12th. Over $400 in cash prizes will be awarded.
Open to all 2D media excluding photography and digital art. Acceptable mediums include watercolor, gouache, acrylic, oils, ink, casein, and egg tempera on any 2D surface. Submit 1-3 images at $15 each for non-members or $10 each for members. Work must not have been exhibited in a previous Rhode Island Watercolor Society juried show, must have been completed within the last 10 years, and must be original work not copied from copyrighted material, painted by another, created under direct guidance of another, or created by following a tutorial. Work may have been done in a class or workshop using only the artist's own reference material. Submitted digital images must accurately represent the actual work, and work must be the same size as indicated in the submission form. There is no size limit for this show. Work may be listed as not for sale (NFS) by entering 0 in the price section or contacting [email protected].
Eligible artists must be located in the United States. If work is sold through the online gallery, the Rhode Island Watercolor Society will receive 35% of the sale. Shipping costs for purchased work are the responsibility of the buyer or artist. No accepted entry may be withdrawn prior to the close of the exhibition, and prices may not be renegotiated after submission.
