Luminosity

Luminosity is an exhibition seeking artwork where light plays a unique role. The theme explores how light carries an essential element in extraordinary artwork, lifting paintings, capturing highlights and depth, and serving as an energy that can lift spirits and capture imaginations. Artists are invited to show luminosity from their perspective.

The exhibition runs February 3-28, 2021. Entry fee is $20 for the first entry and $5 for each additional entry, with a maximum of 20 total entries. JPEGs must be submitted by January 1, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. MST. Notification of acceptance will be sent by January 8, 2021. Local drop-off of work is Monday, February 1 between noon-5pm. Work being shipped must arrive by Monday, February 1 and no sooner than Monday, January 25, 2021. An Open House will be held Saturday, February 6 from 2-5pm. Unsold work can be picked up Monday, March 1 between noon-5pm, with shipped work returning during the week of March 1, 2021. The Director's Choice award is $250.

This call is open to artists worldwide, both amateur and professional. All fine art media will be considered except film. Work that is copied or done under the guidance of an instructor is not eligible. Only submit work that will be available at the time of the exhibit and will remain for its entirety. Framed work must be fitted firmly in frame with wire for hanging with no loose glass over mats; gallery wrapped canvases are permitted. Poorly presented work will not be hung. All images must be in JPEG or JPG format, 1,200 pixels or greater on the longest side, with a maximum file size of 5 mb. Shipping, return shipping, and handling fees are the artist's responsibility. Members of the Cultural Center are charged a 30% commission on all sales; non-members are charged 40%.
