About This Call
The Luis Ferreira Alves International Photography Competition is a biennial programme honoring Luis Ferreira Alves, who bridged the gap between analogue and digital photography. The competition invites photographers to submit work exploring the relationships between photography, architecture, the city, and territory. Organized by Porto City Council and the cultural association Cityscopio, with partners including Casa da Arquitetura and the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Porto, the competition aims to recognize established photographers while also spotlighting emerging practices.
Winning and finalist works will be exhibited and published in the competition catalogue. Winners receive cash prizes or photographic equipment.
