Loveland Public Library Art in the Galleria (2020)

The Art Selection Committee of the Loveland Public Library seeks art by Colorado artists or artist teams for 2020 exhibits in the Galleria spaces. The Galleria display cases provide artists with valuable public exposure and sales opportunities. Loveland is home to many outstanding artists and was the first Colorado city to pass an Art in Public Places Ordinance.

The Library features five display cases within pillars along the Galleria, with inside dimensions of 69" H x 21" W x 19" D. Artwork must fit within these limits, and hanging systems allow a maximum weight of 16 pounds. Selected artwork will be on display for one of four three-month periods in 2020: January 1-March 31, April 1-June 30, July 1-September 30, or October 1-December 31. Applicants must reside in Colorado and may apply as individuals or as part of a team.

Submissions require a concept statement, current resume, detailed information on each piece (title, dimensions, medium, date produced, price/value, and sale status), and images of up to six artworks. Sculptural pieces may include additional images showing different views. An art selection jury will review applications and select artists for temporary exhibit. All applicants will be notified of jury selections in mid-late November. Selected artists are responsible for transportation of their work to and from the gallery. A $100 Best of Show prize will be awarded November 15, 2020. Sales during display will be handled by the Friends of the Loveland Public Library, who retain a 20% commission. Entry fee is $10.00.
