About This Call

Love Hurts is a Valentine's Day exhibition and juried competition open to all mediums and artists from all locations. The theme centers around love, or more specifically "Love Hurts." ShockBoxx Gallery in Hermosa Beach is seeking artists for an upcoming group exhibition opening February 14th, 2020. Top artist submissions will win cash prizes and award certificates, as well as featured wall space in the exhibition.

Artworks will be judged based on creativity, originality, quality of work, interpretation of theme, composition, and overall artistic ability. The competition will be featured on Artsy. Jurors include Mike Collins (ShockBoxx gallery owner) and PMS Artwork.

Entry fee is $25 for a single entry of one image, or up to seven images at $5 per additional image. Video and audio uploads are also available. Work sample requirements: 1-7 images, 0-5 audio files, 0-5 video files, with a total of 1-5 samples. Competition winners will be announced in late January via email. The exhibition will be featured on Artsy, and winners will be published on the PMS Artwork Past Competition Winners site for reference on resumes and future submissions. If selected for the gallery exhibition, details on sending/delivering work to the gallery will be provided via email.
