LOVE Exhibition at MVA Gallery

The MVA Gallery (Modern Visual Arts) invites artists, photographers, and sculptors of all levels to submit original artwork to the LOVE exhibition. This national call explores all forms of love as a powerful force in our lives, including romantic and selfless love, unrequited love, self-love, religious/spiritual love, and love beyond death. Artists may also consider platonic affection between friends, parental adoration, and devotion to animals. Love can be expressed toward objects, actions, and experiences, including reverence for nature, passion for the arts, and dedication to special work such as teaching and medicine. The exhibition welcomes all variations of representational and non-representational art with no restrictions on style and approach. Accepted mediums include painting, watercolor, printmaking, mixed media, digital, pastel, encaustic, sculpture, fiber, drawing, and photography.

Entry fee is $35.00 for 3 images, with additional images available for $5.00 each up to a maximum of 9 images. All images must be submitted as JPEG files under 5 MB with a minimum of 1200 pixels on the longest side. Submissions must include title, medium, size, price, and year of completion. Artwork must be professionally finished and ready for secure installation with stretched wire attached to the back. Paintings should be framed or gallery wrapped; photographs should be framed in black or white frames with white or off-white mats. Artwork must not exceed 48 inches on the longest side (framed) and must weigh no more than 45 lbs; sculpture must not exceed 24 inches on any dimension. Artists are responsible for all shipping and insurance costs. Accepted artwork must arrive by September 10, 2024. The exhibition runs September 14 through October 10, 2024.

Jurors and curators will select accepted work. Awards include an Art of Distinction Award featuring a special exhibition, a Director's Choice Award of $200, and an annual Grand Prize offering a New York City exhibition opportunity. Artists will be notified by email on or about July 21, 2024. For accepted work, the gallery retains 30% commission on sales with 70% going to the artist. Unsold artwork will be returned October 12-18, 2024.
