Louisville Art Association 2012 National Juried Photography Show

The Louisville Art Association presents the 21st Annual National Juried Photography Show, a juried photography competition offering over $8,000 in cash and awards. The competition includes eight categories: Color (People and Animals, Landscape and Architecture, Still Life/Floral/Abstract), Black and White (People and Animals, Landscape and Architecture, Still Life/Floral/Abstract), HDR (Digital Creative or Heavy Interpretive Manipulations), and a special theme category for Newborns and Infants (people or animals).

Awards include Best of Show ($1,000), Judge's Award ($200), People's Choice ($100), eight 1st Place awards ($100 each), eight 2nd Place awards ($75 each), and eight Merit awards ($50 each). Additional awards valued at over $5,000 are provided by OnOne Software, Duraplaq, Helicon Software, and Topaz Labs. The entry fee is $35 for the first three pieces, with $10 for each additional entry. Maximum of 10 entries per person. All work must be original and executed professionally; work shown in previous LAA shows will not be accepted. Digital entries only in JPEG format, maximum 1920 pixels along longest edge, SRGB color space, 300 DPI. Framed size limit is 1500 square inches.

Accepted work must be properly framed, wired, and ready to hang with no sawtooth hangers or exposed glass edges. Acceptance notifications are sent May 23. Shipped artwork must arrive by June 20 to Bob Maynard, 1628 Deerwood Drive, Longmont, Colorado 80504. Hand-delivered work must be brought to the Center for the Arts between 4-7 pm on June 27. The opening reception is June 30, 7-9 pm at Louisville Center for the Arts, 801 Grant Avenue, Louisville, Colorado 80027. The show closes July 8. Accepted artists may display up to 10 pieces of matted work or cards for sale; LAA charges 25% commission on all sales. Judge: Glenn Randall, published photographer with over 950 photo credits.
