Louisville Art Association 2011 National Juried Photography Show

The Louisville Art Association presents the 20th Annual National Juried Photography Show. The show will be held at the Louisville Center for the Arts, 801 Grant Avenue, Louisville, Colorado, a renovated turn-of-the-century schoolhouse serving as a state-of-the-art gallery space.

Entry categories include: Color (People and Animals, Landscape and Architecture, Still Life/Floral/Abstract); Black and White (People and Animals, Landscape and Architecture, Still Life/Floral/Abstract); Digital Creative or Heavy Interpretive Manipulations; and a special HDR theme category. Photographers may submit 3-10 images. Entry fee is $35 for 3 images, with $10 charged for each additional image above 3. All work must be original and executed in a professional manner. Work previously shown in LAA exhibitions will not be accepted.

Awards total $3,000 in cash: Best of Show ($1,000), Judge's Award ($100), People's Choice ($100), Merit ($50), and eight Best of Category awards ($100 each) and eight Second Place awards ($75 each). The judge is Russell Burden, an internationally published photographer. Entry deadline is May 9. Acceptance notifications will be sent May 23. Accepted work must be shipped or hand-delivered by June 24 (shipped) or June 28 (hand-delivered). The opening reception is July 2, 7-9 pm, with the show running July 3-10. Selected artists may display up to 10 matted pieces or cards for sale, with LAA retaining a 25% commission on sales. All exhibition work must be properly framed, wired, and ready to hang with no sawtooth hangers or exposed glass edges.
