About This Call
The Louisville Art Association's 19th Annual National Juried Photography Show is held at the Louisville Center for the Arts, located at 801 Grant Street in Memory Square Park, Louisville, Colorado. The competition is open to everyone over 18 years of age. All work must be the original work of the photographer and executed in a professional manner, with all photo editing done by the contestant. Photography previously submitted to LAA juried shows will not be accepted.
Entries must consist of 3-10 images. The entry fee is $30 for the first 1-3 images, with a $10 fee for each additional image. All accepted work must be properly framed, wired, and ready to hang with identification information on the back (photographer's name, title, category, and price). No sawtooth hangers or exposed glass edges are permitted. Bin work and greeting cards may be included if juried in, limited to 20 11x14 or smaller pieces, with a 25% commission charged on all sales.
The show features eight categories: Color (People & Animals, Landscapes & Architecture, Still Life/Floral/Abstract), Black & White (People & Animals, Landscapes & Architecture, Still Life/Floral/Abstract), Digital Creative or Heavy Interpretive Manipulations, and Theme (Put Your Best Face Forward). Juror Timothy B. Anderson is the former publisher/managing editor of CameraArts magazine and co-founder of Rio Grande Workshops. Prize awards include Best of Show ($1,000), Judge's Award ($100), People's Choice ($100), Merit ($50 each for 8 awards), and category awards (Best of Category $100, Second Place $75 for each of 8 categories). The exhibition runs June 26 through July 4, 2010, with an opening reception on June 26 from 7-9 pm. Shipped work must be delivered June 15-19. Hand-delivered work must arrive June 23 between 12-7 pm. Pickup is July 4 from 4-6 pm or July 5.
