About This Call
The Los Angeles Printmaking Society invites submissions for a juried exhibition curated by Donna Stein, Associate Director of the Wende Museum and Archive of the Cold War in Culver City. Stein is an art historian and curator with over 30 years of experience organizing exhibitions in all media, primarily focusing on nineteenth and twentieth century art, for major institutions including The Museum of Modern Art in New York, The National Gallery of Art and The Corcoran Gallery in Washington, D.C., The Toledo Museum of Art, and others. She has published over 100 articles and more than 40 books and catalogues.
Original works in all traditional printmaking processes, including monotypes, are acceptable. Traditional photography, offset reproductions, reproductions of art originally produced in another medium, and strictly digital prints will not be considered. Work must not exceed 28"x36" (paper size), and three-dimensional work and books are not accepted. Artists may submit 1-3 images. The entry fee is $15.00.
Notifications will be made by June 15, 2014, with delivery of accepted work due by July 10. Upon acceptance, work must be available for the duration of the exhibitions at both locations. All artists are responsible for shipping to Los Angeles and should include a return-shipping label. Accepted prints will be matted and shipping to Jerusalem and back to Los Angeles will be paid by the organizers. This exhibition is co-sponsored by The Los Angeles Printmaking Society, Jewish Artist Initiative of Southern California, and the USC Initiative for Israeli Arts and Humanities.
