LORE: Exploring Fear

LORE: Exploring Fear is an international photography and digital art exhibition exploring the visual representation of fear. The call seeks photographers, digital artists, graphic designers, video artists, and mixed media creators to submit work interpreting fear—whether through tales of caution, stories of loss, explorations of the macabre, or personal interpretations of what frightens them.

Media accepted includes photography, digital art, graphic design, scanography, phoneography, scanned prints, drawings, doodles, and digital recreations of paintings and sculptures. Submissions must be 5-10 images maximum. Entry fee is $35 for up to 5 images, with each additional image costing $7. Early bird deadline is August 31st; final deadline is September 30th, 2018. The show runs October 13th - November 10th, with an opening reception on Saturday, October 13th.

If accepted, artists must provide high-resolution print files. Specto Art Space provides free professional printing, matting, and framing in the following sizes: 12"x12", 12"x15", 12"x16", or 12"x18". Contact the gallery if your work requires different dimensions. Awards include $400 for best in show and two $100 honorable mentions. All accepted works are catalogued and archived for continued promotion. Artists retain copyright and can approve use of their work in promotional materials. Sales inquiries are directed to the artist; Specto takes a 35% commission on sales, with 65% going to the artist. The juror is Jeremiah Morris, Director and Founder of Specto Art Space.
