About This Call
This juried visual art competition and exhibition is open to two-dimensional figurative artists (referencing the human figure) who are over the age of 18 and working in painting, drawing, printmaking, or fiber. All works must have been created within the last five years. Artists may submit up to three works for a non-refundable entry fee of $25. Images should be submitted as 300 dpi JPEG files, no smaller than 5" X 7" in scale, using the filename format "LastNameFirstInitial-Title".
This year's juror is Anne Harris, a painter and self-portraiture artist whose work is held in public collections including The Fogg Museum at Harvard, Yale University Art Gallery, and The New York Public Library. She has received a Guggenheim Foundation Fellowship and an NEA Individual Artists Fellowship, and teaches at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
Awards include Best of Show ($3,000), Second Prize ($1,500), Third Prize ($1,140), Fourth Prize ($900), Fifth Prize ($660), and two Honorable Mentions ($250 each). Notification of acceptance will be sent via email on September 15-16, 2021. All accepted works must be framed or otherwise ready to hang and received by October 18. The exhibition opens November 6 with an award presentation (7-9 pm) and closes December 12. Return shipping begins December 15. Accepted works must include pre-paid return shipping labels.
