About This Call
Long Island Landscapes is a juried exhibition celebrating the beauty and artistic inspiration of Long Island, New York. Artists living on Long Island and in the surrounding region are eligible, provided they can pick up and drop off work in person. The exhibition will hang for 4 weeks in The Darcy Gallery (second floor) at The Firefly Artists Gallery, 162 Main Street, Northport, NY, from September 14 to October 10, 2021.
Eligible entries must be original artworks (no reproductions) centered on the theme of Long Island landscapes, in paintings or drawings only. Maximum size is 30" x 40" including framing. All artwork must be for sale, with the gallery taking a 35% commission. Artists are responsible for insuring their own works. Accepted work must be framed, wired, and ready to hang or display. Framed pieces 16" x 20" and larger must have plexiglass instead of glass. Each submission must include artist name, title, date, medium/materials description, and artist statement.
Entry fee is $35 for one piece; up to three additional pieces may be submitted for $5 each. Up to two pieces per selected artist will be included in the exhibition. Work must be delivered in person on September 10 (4-8pm) or September 11 (12-4pm). Selected artists will be notified September 3. An art reception is scheduled for September 25 (3-5pm). Artwork pickup is October 10 (5-8pm) or October 12 (3-6pm). A storage fee of $5 per day applies for work not picked up by October 13. Awards will be given for First, Second, Third Place, and Honorable Mention. Note: The venue has no handicapped access and is located on the second floor of a historic building.
