About This Call

The World Health Organization (WHO) identified loneliness and social isolation as a global health crisis and established a three-year commission (2024-2026) to increase awareness, stimulate action, and support solutions that redefine how we connect with one another. This in-person, juried exhibit seeks to use art to raise awareness and invites artists to explore the current state or reimagined future of loneliness, social isolation, social connection, relationships, and/or resilient communities.

2D and 3D art including painting, photography, digital, sculpture, and installations are accepted. Up to two works may be submitted. The exhibit runs March 7-29, 2025, with artwork required to arrive by Saturday, March 1, 2025. Artists are responsible for shipping to and from the gallery in Ludington, Michigan. Works may be submitted for sale or as NFS (not for sale). During the exhibit, each work will be featured on the Ludington Arts Center Facebook page.

Entry fee is $30.00 (includes submission of up to 2 works) plus an optional $5.00 media fee. An artist statement of 200 words or less describing each submitted work is required and will be displayed with the artwork. The exhibition is open to all 2D and 3D artists, national and international, ages 18 and older. No reproductions or derivatives of original art are accepted. Submission deadline is February 2, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. MST. Jury dates are February 3-6, 2025. This exhibit is held in conjunction with West Shore Community College's Humankind outreach series.
