About This Call
The Twelfth Annual Lone Tree Art Exhibition and Sale is presented by the Lone Tree Arts Commission and the City of Lone Tree. This juried exhibition runs November 16, 2013 to January 5, 2014 at the Lone Tree Arts Center, 10075 Commons Street, Lone Tree, Colorado, 80124, with an opening reception on November 16 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Artists may submit up to three pieces of original artwork in the following categories: Oil, Water Media (acrylic and watercolor), Pastels, Mixed Media (pencil, charcoal, colored pencil, collage or combination of media), and Sculpture. Artwork must be original in concept and executed by the artist's own hand, completed within the last three years, and not previously shown in a Lone Tree Art Exhibition. Artwork must be non-offensive to a general audience of all ages and available for purchase. Three-dimensional artwork must fit on a 15 square inch pedestal and not weigh more than 75 pounds. Dimensions provided must be the final size including the frame. The Exhibition Committee reserves the right to accept or reject entries and change category placement as deemed appropriate.
Entry fee is $35 (non-refundable). Artists must apply via CaFÉ by September 15, 2013 at 12:00 a.m. MDT. Notification of acceptance will be sent via email on September 27, 2013. Artwork must meet gallery quality standards and be ready to hang on the Arakawa Hanging System with wire on the back. No exposed glass edges or saw tooth hangers are permitted. Glazing and Plexiglas are accepted if artwork does not exceed 55 lbs. Gallery-wrapped canvas is accepted only if properly wired and all exposed canvas is painted. A label identifying artist, title, category, and price must be attached to the back. Total cash awards are estimated at $4,000, with the Best of Show winner receiving gallery space at the Lone Tree Arts Center for 30 days following the exhibition. Artwork must be hand-delivered during designated drop-off (Wednesday, November 13, 2013, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.) and pick-up (Monday, January 6, 2014, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.) times only. No artwork shipments are accepted. A 20% sales commission applies to all sales. Artists are responsible for maintaining their own insurance.
