Lone Tree Art Exhibition and Sale 2012

The Lone Tree Art Exhibition and Sale is a juried exhibition accepting original artwork in five categories: Oil, Water Media (acrylic and watercolor), Pastels, Mixed Media (pencil, charcoal, colored pencil, collage or combination of media), and Sculpture. Artists age 18 and older may submit up to three pieces of artwork. Artwork must be original in concept and executed by the artist's own hand, completed within the last three years, not previously shown in a Lone Tree Art Exhibition, and available for purchase. Artwork should be non-offensive to a general audience of all ages. Sculpture entries must fit on a 15"x15" pedestal and not weigh more than 75 lbs.

The entry fee is $35 per submission, non-refundable. Artists may submit work in multiple categories. Selections are made via blind jury review by juror Jill Soukup from JPEG images, with final awards determined from delivered artwork. Total cash awards are estimated at $4,000, with award amounts based on the number of entries per category. The Best of Show winner receives gallery space for up to 10 images for 30 days at the Lone Tree Arts Center following the exhibition. Artwork must meet gallery quality standards and be ready to hang on the Arakawa Hanging System with wire on the back. No exposed glass edges or saw tooth hangers are permitted. Glazing and Plexiglas are accepted if artwork does not exceed 55 lbs. Gallery-wrapped canvas is accepted only if properly wired and all exposed canvas is painted.

The exhibition runs October 20 - December 9, 2012. Artwork delivery is Wednesday, October 17, 2012, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Pickup is Monday, December 10, 2012, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The Lone Tree Arts Center conducts sales and charges a 20% commission. Accepted artists may sell up to six images of bin work at the Opening Cocktail Reception on October 20, 2012 only. Art Exhibition Catalogues listing artist contact and sales information will be available to the public. Artwork may not be removed before the end of the exhibition. Artists are responsible for maintaining their own insurance.
