Locust Grove Transverse Gallery Solo-Show Call for Art

Locust Grove Estate in Poughkeepsie, NY is announcing four solo show opportunities in the Transverse Gallery. Each 10-12-week show runs between Summer 2025 and Fall 2026, with the specific dates to be determined. Selected artists will exhibit 20-30 artworks in this National Historic Landmark Museum, which attracts over 90,000 visitors annually.

Solo shows are available for 2-D artwork only. Artwork must be properly mounted and ready to hang from a track-type hanging system with two d-rings mounted on each side, about 1/3 down from the top of the piece. Materials fastened to the front of artwork may not protrude more than 3 inches. Artwork must not exceed 7 feet in height or weigh more than 10 pounds. Artists are requested to submit work appropriate for visitors of all ages, including school groups; no nudes. Artwork may be for sale or exhibition only. If selected, the images submitted for review do not necessarily have to be among the works exhibited.

Entry fee is $40. Applicants must submit exactly 10 images with dimensions and a one-page maximum artist statement. Entrants must be aged 18+. Jury selections will be announced before the end of December 2024. For artwork sold, the artist receives 75% and Locust Grove receives 25%. Locust Grove will handle marketing through press releases, media lists, and social media (4,400+ mailing list subscribers, 6,600 Facebook followers, 3,800 Instagram followers). The artist is responsible for transporting and picking up artwork and any additional promotion beyond on-site signage provided by Locust Grove.
