Lines Exhibition

The Cultural Center of Cape Cod is seeking artwork for an exhibition on elevator doors with the theme "Lines of all shapes and sizes." The line is one of the fundamental elements of art—beginning and ending, joining and journeying. Straight, curved, thick, thin, simple or elaborate, the line has an endless number of uses in the creation process. Artists are invited to show how their lines dominate their work for this unique platform.

The elevator doors measure 36" wide x 80" high (1:2.2 ratio). Work must be submitted in portrait orientation only; landscape cannot translate to these dimensions. Images that are more than half as wide as they are high may be cropped to fit the available space. All 2D fine art mediums are acceptable. Original artwork only. Sculptors and other artists whose images include background material should consider how the background factors into the final image reproduced for display.

Submit up to 20 images in JPEG or JPG format. Image size must be 1,200 pixels or greater on the longest side; maximum file size is 5 MB. Entry fee is $25 for the first entry and $5 for each additional entry. Payment is non-refundable and does not guarantee acceptance. Deadline for submissions is July 31, 2024. Winners will be notified by August 5, 2024. Each selected artist will receive a $250 stipend and acknowledgment with contact information at the installation site. Installation is scheduled for September 1, 2024. Selection is by director's choice; no personal feedback is provided by jurors. All sales inquiries will be directed to the artist's website.
