About This Call

Since fire, light has been utilitarian, decorative, and such a routine part of our existence that often we don't mark its significance. This exhibit promises to make viewers take a renewed look at fine-craft lighting. It presents new materials paired with lighting, shows current trends in using LED lights, and pushes the audience to consider amping up the art in their own home lighting.

Each of the following media will be represented: Clay, Wood, Glass, Fiber (paper), Metal and Jewelry. The exhibition will feature chandeliers, floor lamps, table lamps, whimsical lamps and serious artistic lights, as well as art to wear.

Entry fee is $40 for non-members and $25 for members. Submissions must include 1-6 images. Submission deadline is December 18, 2017. Selected artwork is due at Florida CraftArt by January 15, 2018. The opening reception and award announcements will be held Saturday, February 10, 2018, 5:30 to 9 p.m. The closing reception and People's Choice Award will be held Saturday, March 24, 2018, 4:30 to 6 p.m. Notification of acceptance will be sent via email on December 27, 2017.
