About This Call
Robert A. Peck Gallery is accepting applications for a juried photography exhibition featuring images shot in Wyoming. All photographic print formats are accepted, including black and white film, digital, alternative and experimental processes. Artists can reside anywhere in the world. The gallery seeks images that capture unexpected aspects of Wyoming and exude innovation, aesthetic finesse, and thought-provoking narratives. Archetypical visitor guide images are not desired. No videos, films, or AI-generated images are accepted.
Artists may submit 3-8 JPEG images for jurying. All types of photographic prints are accepted; artists must own copyright and obtain model releases for persons photographed. Framed artwork must use eye hooks with wire and plexiglass or glass. Images printed on metal or other materials must be ready to hang. A 1-page artist statement or process/technique statement is required. There is no application fee and no commission fee will be collected.
The exhibition runs August 19 - October 10, 2024. Jury selection takes place June 22 - July 14, 2024. Awards and prize money ($3,000-5,000) will be given for Best of Show, People's Choice, and 1st-3rd place. The 3-panel jury consists of Wyoming artists: Lonnie Slack, a professor of photography and practicing photojournalist and fine art photographer for over 30 years; Nita Kehoe, a professor of art and gallery director who has been a practicing artist for 35 years; and George Kahrl, a cattle rancher and self-taught photographer. The Robert A. Peck Gallery is a 6,000 square foot space located at Central Wyoming College in Riverton, Wyoming.
