Light - Next Dor, St. Louis, MO

Next Dor, a Jewish non-profit located in St. Louis, is presenting its first juried art show, "Light" at the art gallery located at C.A.M.P., also a non-profit located in St. Louis. The opening will coincide with the Jewish holiday Hanukkah, the "festival of lights." This show is an opportunity for artists of all backgrounds to display their artistic interpretations of what light means to them in two-dimensional form.

Curator, art instructor, and former director of Art St. Louis, Dion Dion, will be the juror. One first place winner will receive a one hundred dollar award, and two runner-ups will receive fifty dollars each. The size of pieces is limited to six feet in any direction. Work may be framed, strip framed, or gallery wrapped. No loose plexi that is clipped or nailed to wall. All works must be ready to hang with a hang wire on the backs of the frame. Work delivered that does not match the accepted work by the juror will not be displayed. All accepted work must remain hanging for the entire duration of the show.

Entry fee is $25.00. Submit 1-3 images of your work. Deadline: November 9th at 11:59 p.m. MST. Notification: November 17th. Hand delivery of accepted work: December 1st 9am-5pm, December 2nd 10am-2pm. Shipped work must arrive by December 3rd and must be packed in a reusable container; artists are responsible for delivery and return shipping. Opening: December 7th 6-9pm. Show ends: January 11th. Artwork available for pick-up: January 12th 9am-5pm, January 13th 10am-2pm. Shipped artwork will be returned January 14th.
