About This Call
Light and Memory is a photography exhibition at A/NT Gallery (A Non-Traditional Gallery, formerly Art/Not Terminal Gallery) in Seattle. The exhibit runs March 1-30, 2014, with an opening reception on March 1 from 6PM to 10PM.
Submissions must be still photography in digital or film format. Digital photographs must be sourced from real world scenes and not CGI, though post-processing is acceptable. Mixed media is acceptable if it incorporates original photographs and photography is a significant aspect of the work. Video submissions are not accepted. All work sizes are accepted as long as pieces fit reasonably within the gallery. Artists may submit 1-5 images for a $25 entry fee. The submission deadline is February 14, 2014 at 11:59 p.m. MST. Jurying will take place February 14-16, 2014, with artist notification by February 17, 2014.
Selection will be based on technical execution, composition, creativity, and how the work fits the theme of "Light and Memory." There is a preference for photography featuring light and springtime/rebirth motifs, but this is not required. Prizes will be awarded: $100 for First Place, $60 for Second, $40 for Third. Jurors include Scott Burk (owner of Blindfold Gallery), Tracy Cilona (owner of Twilight Gallery and staff member of Photo Center NW), Deborah Conger Hughes (former faculty at University of Washington and member of UW Photography Group), and Joan Bowers (independent photographer).
Selected artwork must be delivered February 23-25, 2014 between 11AM and 6PM, or shipped by February 27. 2D framed media must have hanging wire. The gallery will provide pedestals for 3D artwork if required. Artists are responsible for all shipping costs and packaging. Shipped art must be framed with plexiglass if glass is needed. Artists set their own prices and must mark work "Not For Sale" if applicable. The gallery takes a 15% commission on sales and collects 9.5% sales tax. Artwork must be picked up by March 30, 2014.
