Liberated Forms 2024

Liberated Forms 2024 is a national exhibition celebrating diversity and desire in body and sex positive visual art. The exhibition runs August 8-31, 2024 at The Studio Door in San Diego, CA. The show will include a mature contents warning and code of conduct. Guests must be 18 years or older with valid proof of ID. No photography will be allowed in the gallery during the exhibit. A public reception is scheduled for Saturday, August 10, 2024 from 6 PM - 9 PM.

Eligible artists are visual artists over 18 years old. Accepted categories include painting, drawing, photography, printmaking, assemblage, collage, mixed media, fiber art, artist books, and sculpture. Video, film, installation, and works requiring external electrical sources require gallery approval. The Studio Door no longer accepts shipments of glass, stained glass, ceramics, or stoneware due to shipping damage, though hand-delivered works in these media are acceptable. All submissions must be original work and available for sale. 2-D artwork must arrive gallery ready and ready to hang, preferably in black wood or natural wood frames with plexi only (no glass).

Entry fee is $35 for one artwork, $40 for two, or $45 for three. Images must be submitted through CAFÉ by July 6, 2024 at 10:59 PM PST. Submissions should include 1-3 images (JPG or JPEG format, 1200 pixels or greater on the longest side). Artists will be notified by July 9, 2024. Juror Patric Stillman, The Studio Door founder and gallery owner, will select three artists to receive a Juror's Award certificate and $100 check for artworks expressing the most imaginative interpretation of the theme. Artwork must remain on exhibit for the duration of the show. Sales are split 50/50 between artist and gallery, with checks mailed within 30 days after the show closes. Shipped artwork must arrive by August 2, 2024. Hand-delivery is available August 3, 2024 (11 AM - 5 PM). Artwork pickup is August 31, 2024 (4-5 PM) or September 3, 2024 (11 AM - 5 PM).
