Leigh Weimers Emerging Artists 2022

The Leigh Weimers Emerging Artists Awards give unrestricted cash grants to artists who have shown extraordinary originality and dedication in their creative pursuits, but who have not enjoyed the recognition and rewards of being more widely known. Applicants must be residents or full-time students in Santa Clara County.

The deadline for all submissions is 5:00 p.m. on July 15th. Work samples may include up to 20 images, 6 audio files, and 6 video files (20 total samples maximum). Special submission requirements apply for writers: screenplays and scripts require a video of approximately 5 minutes in length of a staged or unstaged reading of a scene, along with a brief description and plot summary; novels require a short chapter and brief summary; poems and short stories require 3-5 samples. Entry fee is $10.00.

The Awards Presentation Program will be held on October 12th at the Hammer Theater in downtown San Jose. Winners are required to participate in the program and work with Artists committee members in preparation for the presentation. A rehearsal may be required on October 11th. Winners will receive complete details about the presentation. Any changes to the venue or program will be announced on the Leigh Weimers Emerging Artists website.
