About This Call

The Lane Community College Foundation is seeking artwork for indoor areas of the new Health and Wellness building located on the main campus in Eugene, Oregon. This opportunity is open only to practicing professional artists over 18 years of age who are Oregon residents. The call for portable art will be limited to the first 150 applications and will close when 150 online entries have been submitted or at midnight mountain time on March 24, 2011, whichever comes first.

Artists may submit existing works of art that reflect the theme of holistic health and wellness of the individual for installation throughout the building. Selected art may be located in hallways, between faculty offices, in student study areas, and other indoor areas. All media will be considered, but artwork selected must be durable, require little maintenance, and not contain any elements that could be a safety concern. The total budget for all art for the Health and Wellness facility will not exceed $80,000. Artists will be responsible for packaging, shipping, and insuring any artwork that is selected for purchase.

Submissions must include a minimum of 1 and maximum of 6 digital images with artwork title, medium, dimensions, price/value, year completed, and a brief description. Include a brief artist's statement (limited to 2000 characters) describing how the pieces relate to the theme of holistic health and wellness. A resume highlighting professional accomplishments and exhibition history is also required. Art will be evaluated based on artistic merit, quality of materials, appropriateness for the site, and relevance to the theme. All applications must be submitted online through CaFE at www.CallForEntry.org.
