Layer on Layer, An Open Juried National Exhibition of Painting, Drawing and Printmaking

Layer on Layer is an open juried national exhibition of painting, drawing, and printmaking presented by Art League RI. The exhibition runs from Saturday, November 12, 2022 through Saturday, January 7, 2023 at Art League RI Gallery, 80 Fountain Street, Suite 107A, Pawtucket, RI 02860. A public reception and awards ceremony will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2022 from 4:30–7:00 pm.

Eligible work includes 2D and 3D media on or using paper or canvas only. All work must be original and exhibition-ready to install with appropriate hardware. Maximum size is 40" wide and 60" high including frame. 3D work must have an overall footprint of 40" x 60" or less with a weight limit of 50 lbs. Artwork previously exhibited with Art League RI is not permitted. Reprints and copied work are not eligible. Work must be appropriate for viewers of all ages.

Entry deadline is Monday, September 26, 2022. Submission fee is $30 for the first piece and $10 for each additional piece (up to 3 pieces total). Art League RI members pay $25 for the first piece and $10 for each additional piece. A $10 media fee applies. Accepted work must be delivered in person on Thursday, October 20, 2022 (noon–5:00 pm) or Saturday, October 22, 2022 (noon–4:00 pm), or shipped to The UPS Store #0504, 1643 Warwick Avenue, Warwick, RI 02889 by Saturday, October 22, 2022. A $15 handling fee applies for shipped work. Notification of acceptance will be sent on or before Friday, October 15, 2022. Artwork pickup is Sunday, January 8, 2023 (noon–3:00 pm) or Monday, January 9, 2023 (noon–5:00 pm). Jurors are Natalie Featherston, Mim Brooks Fawcett, and Stephen Fisher. Awards: 1st Prize $1,000, 2nd Prize $500, 3rd Prize $250. Art League RI takes a 30% commission from members and 40% from non-members on all sales. Contact: [email protected].
