About This Call
LatinXhibit is a Hispanic Heritage Month exhibition showcasing the rich and diverse influence of LatinX artists on American art history. The Arts Council of Fayetteville/Cumberland County is accepting artwork submissions for this inaugural exhibition, which will feature artists from across the United States as well as prominent and emerging local artists. The exhibition runs September 15–October 14, 2023, at the Arts Center galleries, 301 Hay Street in downtown Fayetteville, NC.
Artists must be at least 18 years old and reside within the United States. Artists should be of Latin American descent; submitted pieces may or may not reflect their cultural experiences, heritage, and identity. All 2D and 3D mediums are accepted, including drawing, painting, photography, animation, sculpture, mixed media, and printmaking. The entry fee is $15 for a maximum of 2 entries. Submissions must include a bio/resume and digital photos of the work. All exhibited works must have been completed within the last three years and may not have been previously shown or entered into any Arts Council of Fayetteville/Cumberland County exhibition. Entries are due by 11:59 PM on Sunday, August 20, 2023. Artists will be notified of acceptance or non-acceptance by Wednesday, August 23rd via email.
If selected, artists are responsible for shipping artwork to the Arts Council by September 11th (artwork received after September 13th will not be installed). A minimum of 50% of each artist's works exhibited should be for sale. The Arts Council retains a 30% commission from sales. All work is insured while at the Arts Council. Installed entries may be picked up between Monday, October 16th and Friday, October 20th during regular business hours (9:00 AM–5:00 PM). Contact the Exhibit Coordinator at [email protected] or 910-323-1776.
