LAPS 22nd National Exhibition

The 22nd National Exhibition is a presentation of excellence and achievement in contemporary printmaking. The Los Angeles Printmaking Society encourages artists to explore the potential of sculptural forms of printmaking. The exhibition is held at Mixografia Press, located at 1419 E Adams Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90011.

The juror is Kenturah Davis, an artist who creates language-based work between studios in Los Angeles and Ghana. She holds an MFA from Yale, has worked at Gemini GEL, and currently teaches art at Occidental College. The 22nd National Honorees are Betye Saar and Alison Saar, influential LA artists whose work in installation and assemblage has transformed contemporary art history.

This is an open call to artists who make prints and reside in the United States and territories. Artwork submitted should be from the past three years. Artists who create print projects in groups are eligible to apply. Entry fee is $35.00 for 1-3 images. All accepted artists receive a one-year Los Angeles Printmaking Society membership with privileges to participate in membership shows throughout 2023. The exhibition offers $3,000 in awards, including material prizes and purchase awards. Exhibition dates are October 15 - November 12, 2022, with an opening reception on Saturday, October 15th, 2-5PM. Jury notification is June 24th, 2022.
