Landscapes: Real or Imagined

The Rhode Island Center for Photographic Arts invites photographers to explore expressions of landscapes real or imagined. This call seeks to update how landscape photography is defined as a genre, celebrating diverse interpretations from the natural to the constructed, from the pristine to human interventions, and including images that appear landscape-like but may be tricks of the eye or products of imagination.

Artists of all levels 18 years or older are invited to submit up to 15 photographs. The entry fee is $45 for the first three images and $10 for each additional image. Current RICPA members receive a 20% discount. Work must be original, exhibition-ready, and in any photographic process or technology, current or historical. Maximum size is 48 inches including frame. The juror is Cara Weston, an accomplished photographer and granddaughter of Edward Weston.

The exhibition runs November 20 through December 12, 2025, at the Rhode Island Center for Photographic Arts, 118 N. Main Street, Providence, RI. Accepted work must be delivered by November 15, 2025. A reception and awards ceremony will be held November 20, 2025, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Awards include First Place ($150), Second Place ($100), and Third Place ($50).
