Landscapes of the Southeast

Red Springs Artspace announces a call for artists for Landscapes of the Southeast, a regional juried exhibition. The southeastern United States is blessed with a remarkable range of natural diversity, from the Appalachian Mountains to the sandy shores of Florida. To be eligible for prizes, all works, whether figurative or relatively abstract, must take Southeast landscape as their theme.

The exhibition will be held February 2 through March 2, 2025 at Red Springs Artspace, 200 S. Main Street in Red Springs, NC. Awards include 1st Place: $300, 2nd Place: $200, and 3rd Place: $100. Accepted works will be listed on artsy.net for the duration of the show. Red Springs Artspace keeps a 40% commission on all show sales. Artists are responsible for transporting accepted work to the gallery and transporting unsold work away at the end of the show.

Eligibility: Open to all artists 18 years of age and older. Artwork must be solely the creation of the artist and original in conception, composition and implementation. No prints or reproductions. All entries must be for sale and remain in the show until the designated pick-up time. 2D artwork may not weigh more than 20 lbs. nor be more than 5 feet in any direction and must be securely wired and professionally mounted. 3D artwork may not weigh more than 30 lbs. nor be more than 2 feet in diameter and must be able to be displayed on a pedestal. Sculptures of five feet or taller that stand safely on the floor and do not exceed the weight limit may be considered. Unstable/freestanding sculptures requiring special mounting or suspension, and illuminated pieces requiring electrical connections, will not be accepted. Entry fee: $35. Submit 1-2 images. Online registration: December 1, 2024 - January 15, 2025. Acceptance notifications via email: January 16, 2025. Drop-off: January 22 (12pm-3pm) and January 26 (2pm-4pm). Opening reception: Sunday, February 2, 2pm-5pm. Pick-up of unsold work: March 7, 2025, 11am-4pm.
