Landscape and Architecture: 2022

Black Box Gallery is hosting a landscape and architecture juried group photo show. The exhibition explores the process and diversity of observation, interpretation and documentation of landscape and architectural photography, examining how compelling, significant and relevant photographic work engages the aesthetics, craft, tradition and concepts of these genres.

Juror Todd Johnson is the founder and director of Black Box Gallery, holding an MFA in Photography from the San Francisco Art Institute. He has served as a portfolio reviewer for Photolucida, Critical Mass, Dodho Magazine and Blue Sky Gallery, and has worked as an independent curator for exhibitions at numerous institutions including Linfield College, Gallery Homeland, The Waiting Room Gallery and others. Johnson has 25 years of experience in arts education and arts administration.

Entry fee is $40.00. Photographers may submit 1-5 images. The juror will select 24 photographs for exhibition at the gallery (July 1-20, 2022) and an additional 30 photographs for the online gallery annex. All 54 photographs will be included in a catalog available for purchase on Blurb Books. Black Box Gallery provides free printing, matting and framing for selected work using archival ink jet printing on Epson Premium Luster Photo paper. Exhibition prints will be kept in flat files after the show for future promotion and sale. Black Box Gallery takes a 50% commission on all sales, with 50% going to the photographer. All rights remain with the photographer, and no sale or printing will occur without prior consent. Photographers will be notified 7-10 days after the deadline about juror selections. Open to all photographers internationally.
