Landscape: A Sense of Place

Landscape: A Sense of Place is an international juried art exhibition at Site:Brooklyn, a street level gallery located in the Gowanus arts district. The exhibition runs May 24 – June 24, 2016, with an opening reception on Wednesday, May 25 from 6-9 PM. This open call invites artists to submit work exploring the distinct, varied, and symbolic nature of the landscape in painting, printmaking, photography, and mixed media. The exhibition is juried by Annette Rose-Shapiro, managing editor of ARTNews magazine.

Eligibility is open to all artists 18 years of age or older working in two-dimensional media. Entry fee is $35 for up to three images, plus $10 for each additional image (minimum 3, maximum 12 images). Only original works may be submitted. Accepted artists will be notified by April 18, 2016. $1,000 in prizes will be awarded.

Accepted work must be suitably framed to professional standards and ready for hanging. Maximum size is 48" W x 60" H x 4" D. All artwork must be priced for sale. Site:Brooklyn retains a 40% commission on all sales. Shipped artwork must arrive between April 18 – May 18, 2016. Hand delivery is available May 17 & 18 from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Hand-delivered work must be removed June 27 & 28 from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Artists are responsible for all shipping costs and insurance. The gallery assumes no liability for damage or loss during transport or while in its care.
